What Should Swimmers Call Me

cupchungai asked: I think everyone in the world should recognize a 1:48:68 in the 200 breastroke. The fact that Kevin cordes broke his record by a second that he set during the NCAA( which he broke the previous record by a second) is amazing. The 40.76 by Vlad. WOW

My jaw literally hit the floor seeing that swim. Amazing.

kyleme5 asked: I really don't think every swimmer in the world should appreciate the previously mentioned times since they are in yards and the only place in the world where that makes sense and is used is in america.

Fast swimming is fast swimming. It shouldn’t take a mathematician to realize that these times are fast as hell, but for those less inclined to do a mild amount of research and/or just recognize fast swimming here you go:

Vlad- 20.62
Shields- 49.66
Cordes- 57.01

Those are the approximate conversions to LCM and before I get harassed I know that those are not completely accurate conversions.

Just saying, these men are the fastest to ever touch the water in their specific races BY FAR (save Shields, cause you know… Phelps and all) and their times should be respected, American or not.

everyone in the swimming world (and not for that matter) should take a moment and appreciate how fast a 17.86 really is…

ALSO a 43.48 in a 100 fly

ALSO A 49.56 IN THE 100 BREAST MOTHER OF GOD

Stuff like this makes me smile. Knowing that there is a whole swimming family out there that is going through everything with you is amazing. Thank you.
